RENTAL TERMS

1. Age Requirements:

The primary driver must be between 22 and 72 years of age and must have held a valid driver’s license for a minimum of three (3) years. Exceptions may be granted at the discretion of the rental company under certain circumstances.

2. Additional Driver:

One (1) additional driver may be included at no extra cost. Any further additional driver(s) will incur a charge of €7 per day, per driver.

3. Fuel Policy:

Vehicles must be returned with the same level of fuel as at the time of collection. Failure to do so may result in additional refueling charges. Please note that no refunds will be issued for excess fuel. If the vehicle is returned with more fuel than it had at the time of pickup, the additional fuel will not be reimbursed.

4. Credit Card Requirement:

A valid credit card is required at the time of rental for the purposes of securing the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) excess, as well as any potential fuel or damage charges.

5. Delivery & Collection Charges:

Free delivery and collection are available within the Chania prefecture for rentals of aminimum duration of two (2) days. For pick-up or drop-off locations outside of the Chania prefecture, an additional fee will apply. This fee will be communicated and agreed upon at the time of booking.

6. Pricing Policy:

All rates are subject to change without prior notice. However, confirmed bookings will be honored at the agreed-upon rate at the time of reservation.

7. Rental Price Includes:

Our rates include unlimited mileage, all applicable taxes, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), third-party liability insurance, and theft protection. The CDW limits the renter’s financial liability for damage to the rental vehicle during the rental period, subject to the terms of the agreement and applicable exclusions.

8. Rental Agreement:

Upon delivery, the renter and any additional driver(s) will be required to sign the car hire company’s Terms and Conditions. This forms a direct contractual relationship between the renter and the rental company.

Please note: Vehicle models listed within each category are indicative only. Specific makes and models are subject to availability and may be substituted with a vehicle of similar size, class, and engine capacity.

9. Payment Terms:

Full payment is required at the time of vehicle delivery, upon signing the rental agreement and receiving the vehicle keys.

10. Vehicle Suitability:

It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that the selected vehicle is appropriately sized for the number of passengers. Overloading the vehicle is strictly prohibited and will invalidate insurance coverage. The rental company reserves the right to cancel bookings in cases of non-compliance.

11. Vehicle Transport Restrictions:

Transporting any TIME CAR vehicle by ferry or transferring the vehicle outside the island of Crete is strictly prohibited without prior written authorization from TIME CAR.

12. Traffic Violations and Penalties:

The renter is solely responsible for any traffic fines, penalties, and related administrative costs incurred during the rental period. This includes, but is not limited to, immobilization of the vehicle and any loss of use due to confiscation of license plates.
